Well, before I go any farther, I should mention that I am half Italian and half German and I knew for sure I inherited a love of Football or Soccer as we call it in North America.
I also thought that meant I inherited poor family genes as I have many relatives that struggle with their weight, although my parents were never overweight and my Brother was even sent to a fat farm as a child!
However....the results are in......the DNA results are in......and I was relieved to find out that I carry O genes for the FTO or Body Fat Gene, I carry O genes for DRD2 or Eating Behaviour Gene. I do carry 2 genes for the MC4R or Appetite gene, yes one from my Dad and one from my Mom. I was quite excited because now that I knew that there was a reason that I could eat and eat and never be full...and now that I knew where to get the natural vitamins to help me with this high risk gene, I knew I was well on my way to finally stop the YO-YO Syndrome. I have hundreds of pounds over the years and this time, I feel like I have a partner 24/7 to keep me on the right track.
So the next thing that arrives was the scale and the pedi and the USB port, these tools will allow my Newtopia Coaches to literally "stalk" me, *ahem* I mean Monitor my behavior, I even added them to my facebook to get the full "BIG BROTHER" experience.
This week has been filled with awesomeness and blessings. Joyce Meyer came to the ACC(Air Canada Center in Toronto), I got to know my band mates better (Just joined League of Rock) www.leagueofrock.com, reconnected with some members in my real estate community via Brian Buffini(100 days to greatness) AND.....my Newtopia one on one session was an eye opener.
For the first time in months I exercised, it was a brisk 45 minute walk, I was exhausted....it is a small step but what do we all know about steps? The journey of a thousand miles begins with putting one foot in front of the other....I am so grateful that I have this opportunity to become the person I have always wanted to be. To be continued.
