Sorry folks, it has been awhile. Been updating my other blog at www.lisaportolese.blogspot.com If you read my last two posts on this site-you will be up to speed.
Last night we had our midway performance for Session 15 League of Rock, we performed at Downsview Park, where the Rolling Stones held the Sars Benefit Concert with Justin Timberlake. I wasn't at that concert but can't imagine it being any better than last night.
The first singer than sang was Carla Mills, she was awesome, poised, looked like a pro on stage....really loved the entire band called.....I forgot, I was kind of nervous.
I missed Heather Hills perform who is an original artist with an amazing CD...more on her later.
Then Sue George and her band come on with 5 part harmonies that even Don Felder would have applauded,you know the guy without the ego that actually wrote Hotel California...read Heaven and Hell...his latest book.
My band, Instant Gratification knocked my socks off, I messed up quite a bit and they were so kind and patient. One of our Members Ivan was so sick and he still showed up to play.
Kenny McNally sang like a pro and was such a generous performer, helping me on the way, in fact, we all helped each other...
Topher was as great as usual and I met Terry Moshenbergs other personality, Gosh, I knew he was smart but did not know how funny he could be. Topher and Terry are Partners in the League of Rock...
Anyway, I will edit this later, I have to go sell a house, but just wanted to let the Universe know about something I learned from one of the coaches and high risk kids...and how music and good hearted volunteers are changing lives, one song at a time....
