I still can't find a thank-you note that says how I really feel. When they called my name it was like a little prayer. I can't believe that the League of Rock named me Most Valuable Personality.
I'll let you in on a little secret...growing up, I won awards for public speaking, athletics, scholarships for acting, modeling and real estate awards but what I have always wanted to win was Miss Congeniality, seriously, I always felt, even back in the day when I was President of my Highschool at Philip Pocock that an award like that would be like a Peoples Choice award, only instead of talent, it was based on how much I did for my fellow man or woman.
You see, I have always tied my self worth with how much I could help others. That is what has always meant the most to me. It is so much better to give than to receive. I think there are alot of people like me, just think to Christmas or Birthdays, how happy you get when you see the look on someones face when you find the perfect creature comfort that they weren't expecting...there are no words. I thought my next post about League of Rock would be about the amazing coaching and mentorship I was lucky to receive from Zack Werner and Gord Deppe- that post is delayed as I need to thank the three men I admire the most, which usually is reserved for the Father, The Son and the Holy Ghost.....but you know what? My Church never gave me an MVP award, all they offered me was Salvation. Fools! (J.K)
I think it is high time that my dues started paying me back, Yes, there I said it!!! ME ME ME!!!!!!!!
So although I really want to visit relatives in Europe.....I am gonna have to make it a short trip because not being a part of the next League of Rock Session would tear out my heart. Sure some friends of mine say it is time for the next musical journey but I believe League of Rock, for me, is part of the journey and each season, like it's people, is unique, fresh, shiny and new with new coaches, new members, new life long friends and some favourite oldies but goodies.
As for being the MVP...Terry, Topher and Kenny, I feel....grateful, happy, excited, elated, amazed, fussed-over, spoiled, merry, mirthful, blissful, jovial and gratified, happy as a clam and overjoyed, hope it was good for you too, afterall, it's not just about me. hahaha
